Maizan Institute of Innovation & Technology (MIIT) is a modern educational and innovation-driven training institute established under the strong foundation and long-standing legacy of Maizan Electronics Pvt. Ltd.
MIIT was created with a vision to empower Maldivian youth, professionals, educators, and communities through advanced technology education, STEM Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital innovation, and practical technical training. Our mission is to prepare the next generation with future-ready skills that support creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and national development.
We provide specialised training programmes for children, youth, teachers, government institutions, and private sector organisations throughout the Maldives — including online learning for regional islands and atolls. Our focus areas include STEM Robotics, AI applications, coding, 3D design and printing, drone technology, electronics, innovation labs, and modern workplace digital transformation tools.
By combining decades of technical experience from Maizan Electronics Pvt. Ltd. with modern educational approaches, MIIT is building a new generation of innovators, creators, engineers, and technology leaders for the nation.

MIIT is built on the foundation of Maizan Electronics Pvt. Ltd., one of the Maldives' longest-standing technology and electronics companies, with a history going back to 1962. For decades, Maizan served the fishing and maritime communities of the Maldives, and always believed in the power of education and youth development. MIIT is the next chapter in that story.
The story of MIIT is deeply connected to the journey of Maizan Electronics Pvt. Ltd. one of the Maldives' long-standing technology and electronics pioneers.
It began in 1962 under the name Maizan Radio Service, providing communication and electronic services to the maritime and island communities of the Maldives. In 1981, the organisation was officially registered at the Ministry of Trade, Maldives, as Maizan Electronics Pvt. Ltd., expanding into a wide range of technology services: Marine Communication Systems, Navigational Equipment, Broadcasting Equipment, Fish Finding Technologies, GPS & Chart Plotters, Satellite Communication Services and Marine Electronics & Technical Solutions.
For decades, Maizan Electronics contributed significantly to the development of the Maldivian fishing and maritime sectors, introducing modern communication and navigation technologies to fishing vessels and island communities across the country.
Beyond its business activities, the company strongly believed in education, training, and youth development. In partnership with the Maldives Fishermen's Association (MFA), Maizan organised numerous technical awareness and training programmes throughout fishing islands and communities across the Maldives.
One of the most notable initiatives was the Young Fishers Club — an educational programme designed to introduce school students and youth to marine technology, navigation, communication systems, and modern fishing knowledge. This initiative helped inspire young Maldivians to explore technical education and innovation from an early age.
Today, MIIT continues this proud legacy by transforming decades of technical experience into modern educational programmes focused on innovation, robotics, AI, STEM education, and future technologies for the youth and people of the Maldives.
